In September 2009 O’Brien Roofing & Leadworks Ltd was part of a charity fund raising campaign for Poole hospital.
The campaign had been running for little over 1 year with a goal of raising £1,000,000.00 to purchase a new MRI scanner and equipment to make the unit fully functional – such as MRI patient trolleys and wheelchairs.
The new scanner would be double the strength of the 2 already in use at the hospital and would provide priceless benefits for stroke, cancer and cardiac patients to mention a few.
With such a good cause O’Brien Roofing & Leadworks Ltd, Scott Huxter (a previous patient at Poole Hospital) and Mark Gale (his brother in law) joined the campaign. Both Scott and Mark took part in 2 motocross events to raise money through sponsorship.
O’Brien Roofing & Leadworks Ltd completed all the administration aspects, also collected sponsorship money and provided equipment and covered transport costs for the motocross event.
With a lot of hard work, time and dedication raised a total of £2,816.00 to contribute to the funds for the new equipment at Poole Hospital.
